Malta VFS Checklist

Documents
Application Form – duly filled in and signed by the applicant.
Photograph – one recent passport-size photo in colour with white background (3.5cm × 4.5cm). Do not staple to the application form.
Passport / Travel Document – must:
a) Be valid for at least 3 months after intended stay
b) Be issued within the last 10 years and not valid for more than 10 years
c) Have at least 3 blank pagesOverseas Travel Medical Insurance – valid for all Schengen countries, minimum coverage €30,000 (accident, illness, emergency, evacuation, etc.).
Must clearly specify validity period and cover the entire stay (arrival to departure).
Must be purchased from one of the 16 Schengen-recognized insurance companies in India.
Confirmed Travel Itinerary – with travel dates.
For courses under 91 days: return flights must be included.
After visa approval, confirmed return ticket may be required before visa issuance.
Proof of Sufficient Funds – to cover tuition + living expenses for the full study period.
Notarised declaration if parents/legal guardian sponsoring.
a) Bank letter (signed & stamped) confirming available balance
b) Last 6 months’ original bank statements (student or sponsor)
c) Last 3 years ITRs with CPC acknowledgement (verified)
Original Letter of Acceptance from educational institution in Malta – must state:
Course dates, cost, duration, title
Weekly contact hours & credits awarded
Whether applicant was interviewed & accepted
Accommodation details, rent, and address (if provided)
Course Details – timetable and monthly lesson schedule.
Proof of Accommodation – for the course duration:
i) Confirmed hotel booking, OR
ii) “Declaration of Proof” form (signed by host, copy of host’s Malta ID/Passport, all originals witnessed by a Maltese Legal Professional).
Not required if accommodation is included in Letter of Acceptance.
Proof of Payment – original receipt from educational institution:
For courses ≤ €1,000 → full payment receipt
For €1,000–2,500 → receipt for at least 75%
For ≥ €2,500 → receipt for at least 50%
Educational Certificates – originals apostilled by MEA of issuing country + photocopies. Originals returned with passport.
Passports – original + photocopy of all pages of current and previous passport.
No Objection Certificate (NOC) – notarized, by both parents if applicant is a minor.
Aadhaar Card – original + photocopy.
